Honey Bear Love Cabin Honey Bear Love Cabin Pet Friendly Cabin

Honey Bear Love Cabin More Images

Our family invites you to stay in this beautiful cabin located in the center of 3 acres. Located right on the ridge of the mountain for a very private atmosphere, it has been recently renovated and is a perfect place to unwind. Whether it be in the swing on the back deck taking in the spectacular 12 mile view down the valley, relaxing in the outside hot tub, or taking a walk throughout the 3 acres, Honey Bear Love Cabin has something for you.

Our favorite thing to do is to sit by the large fire ring and gaze at the night sky for shooting stars. The fire ring is located under the milky way! A short walk beyond the fire ring out to the scenic overlook is where you can see one of the longest and awesome views down the Gorge. This is a great place for a romantic or family picnic. Many enjoy just sitting here looking down the valley at one of the best views in the entire Red River Gorge Area. There is also a path that starts at the fire ring that leads down to the large rock shelter. During certain times of the year one can hear the waterfall off to the left and follow that path; careful though, it's about a 200 ft drop and the last step would be a long one! The rock shelter cave is a favorite! More than a few adventurous youth have slept in there with sleeping bags listening to the river run below and the wind sweep across the valley. This cave is large enough to walk around in or just sit and conjour up thoughts of Indians and wonder what the first visitors to this area thought when they saw the beauty of the area.

Within a short walk of the Honey Bear are 3 lakes for plenty of fishing and exploring.

Inside the cabin there is a folder with brochures, maps and information about the endless number of things to do in the area like hiking, canoeing, and browsing the area gift shops.

Amenities:

  • Sleeps 4
  • Hot Tub on covered porch
  • Linens, towels and paper products
  • Full size bathroom
  • Lighted Walkways
  • Heat/Air Conditioning
  • Grill
  • Pet Friendly
  • Walk to Fishing Lake
  • Covered Porch w/Swing
  • Great view for miles from the back deck
  • Gas Fireplace
  • Refrigerator
  • 2 Bedroom
  • Perfect for Honeymoon or Anniversary
  • TV with Dish Network
  • Microwave
  • Outside Fire Pit
  • Stove

Your cabin has everything for a completely relaxing time! I stayed in mid-December and snow was on the ground. Sitting in the hot tub overlooking the the huge backyard covered in snow & listening to the quiet was a perfect was for the stress to melt away! We had the fireplace going most of our visit. The beds were very comfortable and the cabin had everything we needed in the kitchen to fix our meals. It was a great trip and I can't wait to go back! Thank you!!

Sandy and Ian, I wanted to send you a quick message to tell you how much my wife and I LOVED staying at your cabin, and being able to enjoy the surrounding area! We thought that the cabin was about perfect, and when we weren't in the gorge, the lakes and roads near the cabin were wonderful to walk the dogs around. My wife and I are expecting our first baby next spring, and this was the last little vacation that we have planned before then, and it was just what we needed. I've already talked with my wife about someday taking our dogs back there with our new child, excited to show the little one the outdoors as soon as possible. I definitely hope to be in touch with you someday in the next year or two to rent out a cabin again! I hope you have a wonderful winter!

AMAZING cabin! Highly recommended! A lot bigger then i expected. The view is beautiful and it is very relaxing, only complaint i had that wasnt really that bad at all was the road getting back there was not meant for my car after an inch and a half of snow and some ice. Other then that, i will be going back and cannot wait to do so!

Our recent stay at this Grandview mountain resort was positively wonderful!! The cabin itself is luxuriously large, with high ceilings and a wonderful log cabin feel; it has a spectacular view, and (my favorite!) a wrap around porch to die for. I really enjoyed my stay at the cabin. The name says it all. But not only did it have a grandview of the area, but also of the stars at night. I've looked & photographed stars before, but the view of the milky way there was much better than anywere else I've been. It would be hard to find a better cabin for a photographer. Many great photo opportunities there.

Ian, I just wanted to write about how nice our stay was; as you know we celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary while we were there, & the cabin was great. The view is truly GORGEous. Mike & I have always dreamed of owning a genuine log cabin up in the mountains, & while we were there our dream felt so real. We talked about the grandkids we would someday have coming to visit us at the cabin and roasting marshmallows at the camp fire. The back porch is fantastic; from there you feel as though you are alone. Even though my disability did not allow us to take advantage of all the outdoor activities this area is so rich with, we still enjoyed our stay. We went out to dinner at the lodge, took a long drive around the gorge, & sat under the stars. Thank you for personally checking on us when we called; itís so nice to know you live at one of the cabins on property. When you came over, it was like getting a quick visit from a friendly neighbor. The Grandview truly has a grand view. We are already talking about our next visit. Thanks again. Sincerely, Kendra Rae Parson

We discovered Red River Gorge cabins last year and returned this year.We stayed here Aug 12-15, had a great time, very secluded allowing us to rekindle our 8 year relationship.

01/12/2009

The Trailhead cabin had all the amenities we needed for our weekend getaway. The cabin was just as described and is very secluded. We only saw one other vehicle driving through the property the whole weekend! Red River Gorge Cabin Rentals made the whole experience very easy. We are more than pleased and will be planning a return trip back in the spring!

Tony Estes

12/08/2008

John and I spent 4 days/3 nights (Dec. 04-07) at Trailhead Cabin in the Red River Gorge area of Kentucky. When life gets rough and we are stressed out, we like to "run away" for a few days - usually to the Natural Bridge/Red River Gorge area of KY. This was the first time we have gone this late in the year when it is too cold to camp out. I booked us a cabin from a website online and honestly did not expect anything quite as great as what we found when we got there late Thursday evening. Trailhead Cabin is located on a mountaintop off of Route 715 in the Cliffview Resort area. The cabin is at the bottom of a long downhill paved driveway and surrounded by complete, absolute privacy. The wood cabin has a large deck that looks out over a steep wooded gorge, a large deluxe hot tub sits in a corner of the deck and on the other side sits 2 large comfortable rocking chairs, a table and the charcoal grill. Inside the cabin, a wood burning fireplace is the focal point of the living room which also has a TV, VCR/DVD combo, Dish network satelitte, radio and a very comfortable couch and chair. The kitchen has everything you could need or want - a gas stove, fridge, microwave, coffee maker, toaster and cabinets full of dishes, utensils, and pots and pans. A full-size washer and dryer sits in the back hallway. There are 2 bedrooms, both with comfortable queen size beds. Each bedroom has its own bathroom - one with a shower (wonderful water pressure and nice, soft water) and the other with a jacuzzi tub big enough for 2. All of this for your private enjoyment and at a very reasonable, affordable price! John and I had a great time at Trailhead Cabin. We give the highest recommendation to anyone wanting to get away from it all and looking for a place to relax and recharge themselves. You can find details about this cabin and others in the area at www.redrivergorgecabinrentals.com. We've only been home for about 24 hours and I'm ready to pack my bags and head south on 75 again to Red River Gorge!

We had a wonderful time at the Trailhead cabin. Be sure to take advantage of the massage offered on the store area of the website. Toni was wonderful. Her massages are magic, and just added to the fantastic relaxing atmosphere. She is a gem! We truly loved the location, being "isolated" from the rest of the world, suited us just fine! (No cell phone, no internet= pure heaven!!) Trailhead had so many "perks" such as the hot-tub, jacuzzi, and the wonderful porch, which we used to the fullest. It was the best just to sit in the rocking chairs looking at the woods. We took Ian's great advice and brought all our own food, which was a good thing. There were not many places to go, again fine with us! We had a great time hiking the Gorge, and the Natural Bridge. Our best fun was the evening I got into the hot-tub with my friend, Sal-E.-Mander! You could hear me screaming for two miles! We enjoyed a camp fire every night, with millions of stars. Our last night was the best, when we spied a black bear only five feet behind us. (No we were not drinking! There really was a black bear in our camp!) We scampered in quickly after that! What fun!!! We hated to leave and will definately be back. Hope all will enjoy this location as much as we did!! Thanks Ian and thank you Toni!!

This review is a little overdue, but we had an amazing time staying in the Bare Necessities cabin last spring! The space was beautiful and quiet, and we enjoyed cooking out over and open fire when it was sunny, and using the wonderful kitchen on the night that it rained. The hot tub was a great way to relax after a long day's hiking. We'll definitely be visiting again!

Just wanted to say that we had a fantastic weekend in the Bear Necessities Cabin! We loved being away from Cincinnati and the cabin quickly became a home away from home. Thanks!

What a wonderful weekend get away! The cabin was perfect for relaxing and enjoying friends. It has a fully stocked kitchen and all the comforts of home. The setting was so serene as we sat in the hot tub and listen to the rain fall! We all decided this is the perfect cabin for our annual girls weekend! Looking forward to next year!

What a relaxing weekend! The Bare Necessities cabin was a perfect getaway spot! It has everything for a very enjoyable, fun, and peaceful experience. We spent most of our time in front of the fireplace (with real wood) or in the hot tub. The ground was covered with snow during our stay so sitting in the hot tub on the back deck and listening to the quiet of the forest made us want to never leave Bare Necessities! I am already looking forward to returning in the spring to be able to explore the huge backyard and to build a big fire in the stone fire pit. The kitchen was fully stocked so we were able to prepare all our meals without any issues. The beds were very comfortable and warm. My family and I canít wait to return for another wonderful experience! Kim

We stayed at Bear Necessities and had an incredible time! The hot tub was so relaxing and the kitchen was probably better furnished than mine at home! Be sure to read the blue book on the coffee table as soon as you arrive - lots of good info in there!!!!

Hikers Retreat was just that a 'retreat'. Right away I noticed the fresh mountain air with the smell of Cedar trees and a hint of something sweet. The cabin is beautiful and serene. Pictures don't do justice to this little oasis. It was easily accessible. Looking forward to a return trip!

My boyfriend and I just stayed here for two nights to celebrate my birthday and it was wonderful! We've stayed in several cabins here and this one has been my favorite. Very clean and well kept. Perfect size for two or four. The only thing I'd suggest is bringing a skillet if you plan on cooking something that requires one (like pancakes). The closest thing provided is more of a shallow saucepan. Otherwise the kitchen is very well stocked. Definitely a great cabin!

I've stayed in probably 10 cabins in the gorge area; this one is my favorite for 2 people. Absolutely beautiful inside and out! Great location to the area trails and attractions. The open kitchen area is so practical, as I like to take food with us and do a lot of cooking. I also appreciated the fact that it was an easy in and out from the parking area, and there weren't a ton of stairs to haul our coolers and goods up!

July 2012 This is a fairly new cabin. Very clean. Absolutely beautiful on the inside and out. Perfect for a family of 4. Just minutes away from Natural Bridge and Miguel's Pizza. Prior to our trip we were concerned about the loft being too hot, but the kids slept in the loft and they said it was fine. The road getting to the cabin could use a little work, but other than that we would highly recommned this cabin for a peaceful getaway.

Hideaway Ridge is the PERFECT cabin experience. Everything was in pristine condition. The privacy alone puts this cabin above the rest; however, the view from the balcony and the hot tub sealed the deal. I highly recommend this cabin as a romantic retreat from the world. It far surpassed my every expectation. One note: this cabin is at the very "back" of the resort and requires driving along gravel roads with rather large holes. I am glad we decided to take the truck as I am not sure my car would have been up for it. As we were hiding from the rest of the world for a day or two, this actually added to the charm for us. Best vacation rental experience I have every had!

We stayed in this cabin with our 2 kids 2 years ago on spring break. We totally loved it. The view was spectacular, great fire pit, plenty to do around the area. There is a trail right along the edge of the cliff line in the back of the cabin that we walked on almost every day to explore. I would highly recommend this cabin.

Sugar Shack is a great cabin that my wife and I enjoyed living in and recently put back in the rental program. It is located across from the Inn/Conference Center and next to the Grandview cabin. It has a fireplace in the very cozy and well decorated living room. The back deck and the firepit are surrounded by woods. We stayed in Making Memories in July of 2013 with our 3 children, my brother, his wife and newborn joined us for 2 days. The cabin is comfortable, had all needed amenities - including A/C which was needed as in was near 100 degrees! There was a hornets nest on the deck and the hot tub looked a little cloudy and we needed a new fan for the loft. The staff was quick to take care of all 3 of these issues quickly and with smiles! We loved the zip lining! We also went canoeing - excellent day! We hike to the Natural Bridge and other scenic lookouts. We fished in the lake near our cabin and the kids caught some fish. We ate at Miguels pizza - YUMMY!! We did not get a chance to rock climb but we will be back and hope to book Making Memories again!!! Thanks for a great trip!

Our second visit to the cabin was just as good as our first visit. Luckily, the weather was perfect and we avoided all the thunderstorms that week. It was perfect hiking and fishing weather. The hot tub was amazing and my back definitely felt much better after the trip. We really enjoyed our weekend getaway. We really needed a break from college and work. Also, it was a nice relaxing getaway that was perfect for getting engaged and making some new memories. We will definitely try to come visit every year. Thanks Ian and Sandy for having us!

Josh and I had so much fun last June staying in the Making Memories cabin. The cabin itself was clean, beautiful, rustic, and had all the comforts of home while retaining that camping feeling. Very private and romantic, especially the hottub. We swam in a nearby waterfall after hiking the landbridge trails. Also we enjoyed the beautiful drive to the cabin. We had so much fun we are planning a trip this spring as well! Thank you Red River Gorge cabin rentals, we will see you soon.

My husband and I stayed here at the end of January. All I wanted for Christmas was a cabin getaway. We had a great time. The cabin was perfect! Would love to go back again. We love the name of the cabin since we are expecting in October!(do the counting) Thanks again!

Ian and Sandy, Thank you for making our 3-day (my daughter and I) so pleasant and relaxing at Laughing Owl. The cabin was gorgeous and the kitchen had everything and more that we needed. Even though this cabin is close the road we had very little disturbance from passerbys because of the placement of it and truly felt we were all alone. We can't wait to come back. (Next time I am brining my husband:)

We stayed here for our fall wedding in Cliffview, and it was just great! Lots of privacy, but easy to get to on the main road into Cliffivew. And with the extra beds in the loft, we could cut down on expenses by sleeping 8 from our wedding party. We'll be back!

We had a great time at shooting star. There were six of us and we had plenty of room. There is only one bath room and that was the only thing that we didn't like. It was off by it's self, it was something else to wake up to a yard full of turkey and deer, and close to a lot of fishing, which i have to say lake valerie was the best! ten pound cat and four pound bass. We all had a great time. We thought that we would have to take my grandfathers car keys away to keep him there because he would rather be home, and he didn't want to leave! That's saying something. We look forward to coming back again and again.

We had a wonderful weekend at the Shooting Star. This get-away was exactly what me and my family needed! Thanks, Ian for the warm welcome. We spent nights at the fire pit and relaxed our sore muscles in the hot tub. We made some great memories. See you next year! Lisa

Wow, what a great weekend. The cabin was clean and had everything we needed. The best part was when we were sitting in the hot tub and we saw a shooting star! See you next time.

I highly recommend this place. I had to unfortunately unbook a cabin days before I was supposed to be there and they were very nice enough to give me a full refund giftcard that works for a year. That helps me out so much more than anything because it is way better than losing $300 and now i can still go. Definitely best company to rent from

Just stayed here for the first time and OH MY!! This cabin is PERFECT!!! The lake view is a perfect backdrop for the party we had on that deck! There were lots of seating for everyone and plenty of room to move about. No worries about mosquitos as they even have citronella plants all around the porch! The hot tub also overlooks the lake and that is just outside! The inside is beautifully decorated with vintage décor! The four bedrooms were perfect for all of us to have privacy. The loft was a wonderful, we spent hours up there playing checkers on a barrel and laughing till we cried! All I can say is THANK YOU! Thank you so much for allowing us to spend a few days in your home!!!

Perfect cabin! Rustic yet modern look. It was clean, comfortable, spacious... had a lovely aroma of wood. Could fit so many people comfortably. Great (not cheap) amenities including a stocked (with dishes, TP, towels) kitchen, etc as indicated on site. Comfy couches, temp control, pool table... this place is great. Gorgeous view, outdoor Hot tub for cool evenings is always fun too.

Called on the spur-of-the-moment to see what may be open for a Saturday night. Boy, were we surprised! THE CABIN WAS AWESOME! Of course, just the two of us in a 3000 sqft space, we loved it! Enjoyed watching the squirrels play in the trees above the deck,,,acorns falling everywhere! Loved it!

Very clean and beautiful cabin. Be prepared to drive 10 minutes from the front gate to the actual cabin and to wind along a very beautiful but also very remote one lane road that is just stone in some spots. One of the 4 double beds was just mattresses on the floor, so that was a bit disappointing, but we made it work. I am sure they will fix this in the future. We stayed here with a group of 16 - four families with children. It was perfect! Everyone had a blast! There are waterfalls nearby to visit, trails, a pool and paddle boats at the nearby state park. The grill was large and worked well. We also enjoyed the hot tub and the fire pit for smores at night. We had a great time hanging out at this awesome cabin and would definitely go there again!

Our family, and a couple friends recently stayed in the Lakeside Dreams cabin, and it was by far one of the most beautiful places we have ever had the pleasure of staying. We arrived, and planned on staying in a much tighter cabin, but decided we needed something a little more spacious, and secluded, the friendly staff accommodated us to our every need. The Lakeside Dreams cabin offers a beautiful view of the lake, nice privacy, and is perfect for a big group of family and friends. It is near the front gate, so it is not hard to find, and upon arrival it was clean, comfortable, and fully equipped. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and there is so much fun to be had at the gorge. Though it rained our first couple of days, we were still able to have fun within the cabin, and many other places around town. P.S. Christie is awesome! Very personable and helpful.

Our family of 8 stayed at Amazing Grace the first week of October and had the most amazing time. The "cabin" was so wonderful that it was hard for us to leave it each morning to go hiking, horse back riding, rock climbing, zip-lining etc. The area is very secluded, you are the last property out on a penninsula of land surrounded by trees and the gorge. At night everyone would congregate around the hot tub and deck and spend hours talking and gazing at the stars and satellites, no light pollution! A truly wonderful vacation experience that we will be repeating soon.

We had a wonderful time hiking and fishing this past weekend. Our cabin, Amazing Grace, truly was amazing for the 4 of us. Our teen boys had the lower level "man cave" while my husband and I had the main floor. We all enjoyed having our meals there, using the well stocked kitchen. The hot tub, w/an incredible scenic view on the balcony, was enjoyed by all of us after a long hike in the Red River Gorge. Thank you Ian and Sandy for helping us decide on a cabin and for providing excellent directions to find our way. I highly recommend renting, "Amazing Grace."

Our stay at the Amazing Grace Cabin was the first time we had stayed in the Natural Bridge area. The cabin was so much more than we expected and it is difficult to find the words to adequately describe our stay. Our original plan was to stay a couple of nights but after arriving, we quickly added more nights to our reservation. I would highly recommend the Amazing Grace cabin for family gatherings, business retreats, holidays, reunions, and romantic get-a-ways. The cabin is perfect.

08/12/2012

The A-MAY-Zing Grace cabin was absolutely perfect. The view from the deck was breathtaking and the blanket of stars added the final touch to our mountain getaway. The layout of the cabin was perfect for two families with furnishings on both floors that included bunk beds, satellite TV, and full bathrooms. The pool table was a great feature that added fun for everyone. The best part was the hot tub with color-changing lights and easy-to-control jets that was AMAYZING. The kitchen was fully equipped with stove, refrigerator, and dishwasher and a full-size washer and dryer located in the basement provided everything we needed so we never had to leave the cabin. We look forward to many future stays at AMAYZING Grace…especially when it snows!

"AMAZING Grace" The name truly says it all.. It was definitely AMAZING.. We have stayed in several cabins before but this by far is our favorite. It had everything we needed, was very clean and spacious. The kids loved the game room downstairs...It has a wonderful view and was close to the fishing pond for the kids.. We will definitely be back very soon.. Already planning to visit again in the fall ...

We just got back from our weekend at Cliffview Resort and I wanted to make sure that I got this thank-you off as soon as possible. We had a fabulous time and the cabin could not have been any more perfect. Everyone was astonished by the beauty of the cabin and the view. You certainly have named it right. We spent Saturday at The Meadows golf Course. Let just say it is an "interesting" course although we all had a great time and the owners treated us splendidly. I will DEFINITELY recommend "Almost Heaven" to everyone I know and will be looking forward to booking it again in the future. Thank you again!!

This cabin was awesome! We were celebrating our 25th anniversary and it was the perfect size for the two of us. The staff (Sam in particular) was very helpful with activities close by, locating the cabin (as it was difficult to find), and working with our last minute accommodations and needs. The cabin itself was pristine; very clean and looked brand new. Thanks for being a part of a wonderful weekend!

My husband and I just stayed in the Wildwood Cabin for our 10 year anniversary Sept 2012 and it was a beautiful cabin. It was so peaceful and relaxing, it was very clean and comfy. It was nice that it was so close to things like Natural Bridge, it was my first time going up on that. It was a really GREAT time and we will have to come again soon!

The Mammoth Arch Cabin in awesome! We loved the secluded location and unique property. The Lower Arch is just steps away, while the Upper Arch is a short climb up top. Beautiful scenery, we hiked around the arch trails and explored the ridge top. The cabin was nice, we enjoyed the fire pit and hot tub. The hot tub could be a bit cleaner, we had to clean it a bit ourselves before using it and the water smelled a bit like a lake, but no big deal. The location and scenery completely made up for it! Definitely recommended and we will surely be back. Sincerely, S. Martin

This cabin was great! A couple friends and I stayed a few nights here, arriving with high expectations (the pictures were very convincing). Without a doubt, the cabin surpassed our expectations. Close enough to civilization for comfort, yet far enough to get away. Could not recommend this cabin more!

What a beautiful place and with anything you can think your going to need. Very clean and nice we got to check in a little early which was a plus. The only drawback there is no lighting outside if needed to go to car after dark would have trouble seeing. If you would want to get in hot tub at night would be a problem. Yet a wonderful visit in a clean neat place.

My husband and I really enjoyed our weekend getaway in this Yurt a couple of weekends ago. The yurt was so comfortable and clean! The kitchen had everything we needed to cook some great meals. The bed was very comfortable and the living room furniture was very comfy as well. The fireplace was so warm and the yurt so cozy. We also loved the big hot tub on the deck. We had fun roasting hot dogs and marshmallows over a fire in the outside fire pit area! We had a great stay and can't wait to stay in a yurt again! Our little doggie also settled right in and had a great time! Thank you for accommodating us last minute! We really had the best weekend! Thanks again!

My girlfriend and I work the night shift, and we asked if it would be okay if we checked in earlier than the stated check-in time so that we could just drive down to the gorge right after work. No one was staying in the yurt the day before our check-in and they had no problem letting us check in early. We were very impressed by their willingness to show us such hospitality. The yurt was clean, beautiful, and serene. There is nothing better than hiking all day, cooking a nice meal and capping off the day with the hot tub. I wish I could go every week! The staff was very friendly and easy-going. Keep up the good yurt!

We enjoyed yurt living very much. The yurt was clean and we loved the hot tub. I would suggest that you offer a one page directions and welcome page; explain how to work the television/DVD, how to get to the waterfall, describe how you can see the zipliners from the overlook just ten minutes away, etc. This would have been very helpful to us so that we did not have to call the office multiple times.
