| Honey Bear Love Cabin - Sleeps 4 | ||
01/05/2011 | Your cabin has everything for a completely relaxing time! I stayed in mid-December and snow was on the ground. Sitting in the hot tub overlooking the the huge backyard covered in snow & listening to the quiet was a perfect was for the stress to melt away! We had the fireplace going most of our visit.
The beds were very comfortable and the cabin had everything we needed in the kitchen to fix our meals.
It was a great trip and I can't wait to go back! Thank you!! Kim
11/10/2010 | Sandy and Ian,
I wanted to send you a quick message to tell you how much my wife and I LOVED staying at your cabin, and being able to enjoy the surrounding area! We thought that the cabin was about perfect, and when we weren't in the gorge, the lakes and roads near the cabin were wonderful to walk the dogs around.
My wife and I are expecting our first baby next spring, and this was the last little vacation that we have planned before then, and it was just what we needed. I've already talked with my wife about someday taking our dogs back there with our new child, excited to show the little one the outdoors as soon as possible. I definitely hope to be in touch with you someday in the next year or two to rent out a cabin again!
I hope you have a wonderful winter!

I also want to thank Ian and his friends for stopping and helping us when our van broke down. Thanks agian and good luck with your new cabin!

11/20/2006 | Thank you for letting us stay in your beautiful cabin and all the info about riding. Fonda was terrific and the horses were beautiful and gentle. She took us up a gorgeous mountain. The secluded view was wonderful. We both enjoyed your warm and inviting hot tub after the long ride in the mountains. Thank you agian for everything!

11/20/2006 | We just got engaged yesterday up on top of Natural Bridge. Tara thought we were going on a camping trip, but I had her fooled! After our engagement we came back here to HoneyBearLove. The place was perfect. Ian had a dozen roses waiting on the table(arranged beforehand). Nice candlelit dinner-then champagne at the fire circle. Thanks, we'll be back!

11/20/2006 | Your cabin was absolutely wonderful! It was decorated nicely and very well supplied. I felt like I was staying at a friends house instead of a rental. The view was great too, along with the hot tub and the fire pit. We couldn't have been happier!

| Shooting Star - Sleeps 8 | ||
10/07/2008 | We had a great time at shooting star. There were six of us and we had plenty of room. There is only one bath room and that was the only thing that we didn't like. It was off by it's self, it was something else to wake up to a yard full of turkey and deer, and close to a lot of fishing, which i have to say lake valerie was the best! ten pound cat and four pound bass. We all had a great time. We thought that we would have to take my grandfathers car keys away to keep him there because he would rather be home, and he didn't want to leave! That's saying something. We look forward to coming back again and again. Laura Morrow
05/21/2008 | We had a wonderful weekend at the Shooting Star. This get-away was exactly what me and my family needed! Thanks, Ian for the warm welcome. We spent nights at the fire pit and relaxed our sore muscles in the hot tub. We made some great memories. See you next year! Lisa Lisa McEdwards
02/19/2007 | Wow, what a great weekend. The cabin was clean and had everything we needed. The best part was when we were sitting in the hot tub and we saw a shooting star! See you next time. Karen Thibedoux
| Turkey Track - Sleeps 4 | ||
08/14/2007 | Matt and I really enjoyed our mini-vacation here. It is so remote and private. Jaccuzi was a great place to relax after hiking to Grays Arch. We will be back! Trisha and Matt
| GrandView - Sleeps 4 | ||
09/05/2011 | Thank you so much! Our stay was wonderful. We thoroughly enjoyed the view, the gorgeous hikes, and the welcoming, clean house.
Thanks again! Sarah | |
08/05/2009 | Our recent stay at this Grandview mountain resort was positively wonderful!! The cabin itself is luxuriously large, with high ceilings and a wonderful log cabin feel; it has a spectacular view, and (my favorite!) a wrap around porch to die for. The cabin was immaculate when we arrived, and the staff were friendly and helpful. This cabin is truly a mountain-lover's dream home! Marie Durbin
07/22/2009 | This place is fantastic! The cabin is beautiful; it was like a home away from home. Easy access to the trails and other activities that the area is known for. Outstanding view. Tim Trombley
10/06/2008 | I really enjoyed my stay at the cabin. The name says it all. But not only did it have a grandview of the area, but also of the stars at night. I've looked & photographed stars before, but the view of the milky way there was much better than anywere else I've been. It would be hard to find a better cabin for a photographer. Many great photo opportunities there. Mike
08/09/2008 | Ian,
I just wanted to write about how nice our stay was; as you know we celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary while we were there, & the cabin was great. The view is truly GORGEous. Mike & I have always dreamed of owning a genuine log cabin up in the mountains, & while we were there our dream felt so real. We talked about the grandkids we would someday have coming to visit us at the cabin and roasting marshmallows at the camp fire. The back porch is fantastic; from there you feel as though you are alone. Even though my disability did not allow us to take advantage of all the outdoor activities this area is so rich with, we still enjoyed our stay. We went out to dinner at the lodge, took a long drive around the gorge, & sat under the stars.
Thank you for personally checking on us when we called; it’s so nice to know you live at one of the cabins on property. When you came over, it was like getting a quick visit from a friendly neighbor. The Grandview truly has a grand view. We are already talking about our next visit. Thanks again.
Sincerely,
Kendra Rae Parson

04/18/2011 | Thank you for allowing us to stay at your cabin. It was absolutely perfect.
We loved the secluded area. It was so peaceful. We will definately be repeat
customers.
THanks!

03/24/2011 | This review is a little overdue, but we had an amazing time staying in the Bare Necessities cabin last spring! The space was beautiful and quiet, and we enjoyed cooking out over and open fire when it was sunny, and using the wonderful kitchen on the night that it rained. The hot tub was a great way to relax after a long day's hiking. We'll definitely be visiting again! Sarah and Annie
03/08/2011 | Just wanted to say that we had a fantastic weekend in the Bear Necessities Cabin! We loved being away from Cincinnati and the cabin quickly became a home away from home. Thanks!

02/07/2011 | What a wonderful weekend get away! The cabin was perfect for relaxing and enjoying friends. It has a fully stocked kitchen and all the comforts of home. The setting was so serene as we sat in the hot tub and listen to the rain fall! We all decided this is the perfect cabin for our annual girls weekend! Looking forward to next year! Tonya
01/14/2011 | What a relaxing weekend! The Bare Necessities cabin was a perfect getaway spot! It has everything for a very enjoyable, fun, and peaceful experience. We spent most of our time in front of the fireplace (with real wood) or in the hot tub. The ground was covered with snow during our stay so sitting in the hot tub on the back deck and listening to the quiet of the forest made us want to never leave Bare Necessities! I am already looking forward to returning in the spring to be able to explore the huge backyard and to build a big fire in the stone fire pit.
The kitchen was fully stocked so we were able to prepare all our meals without any issues. The beds were very comfortable and warm.
My family and I can’t wait to return for another wonderful experience!

02/22/2009 | We stayed at Bear Necessities and had an incredible time! The hot tub was so relaxing and the kitchen was probably better furnished than mine at home!
Be sure to read the blue book on the coffee table as soon as you arrive - lots of good info in there!!!! Stephanie and Jerry
10/24/2008 | We had the perfect vacation. Everything we needed was at the cabin-just add groceries and go. It was quiet, beautiful, peaceful, clean and comfortable. Thanks for a wonderful time! Lisa, Vickie and Selma
04/10/2008 | We had such a great time staying in your cabin Bear Nessesities! We loved the hot tub after our long hikes and enjoyed the fireplace as well! | Trailhead - Sleeps 4
08/16/2011 | We discovered Red River Gorge cabins last year and returned this year.We stayed here Aug 12-15, had a great time, very secluded allowing us to rekindle our 8 year relationship. Tammy and Darryl
01/12/2009 | The Trailhead cabin had all the amenities we needed for our weekend getaway. The cabin was just as described and is very secluded. We only saw one other vehicle driving through the property the whole weekend! Red River Gorge Cabin Rentals made the whole experience very easy. We are more than pleased and will be planning a return trip back in the spring! Tony Estes
12/08/2008 | John and I spent 4 days/3 nights (Dec. 04-07) at Trailhead Cabin in the Red River Gorge area of Kentucky. When life gets rough and we are stressed out, we like to "run away" for a few days - usually to the Natural Bridge/Red River Gorge area of KY. This was the first time we have gone this late in the year when it is too cold to camp out. I booked us a cabin from a website online and honestly did not expect anything quite as great as what we found when we got there late Thursday evening.
Trailhead Cabin is located on a mountaintop off of Route 715 in the Cliffview Resort area. The cabin is at the bottom of a long downhill paved driveway and surrounded by complete, absolute privacy. The wood cabin has a large deck that looks out over a steep wooded gorge, a large deluxe hot tub sits in a corner of the deck and on the other side sits 2 large comfortable rocking chairs, a table and the charcoal grill. Inside the cabin, a wood burning fireplace is the focal point of the living room which also has a TV, VCR/DVD combo, Dish network satelitte, radio and a very comfortable couch and chair. The kitchen has everything you could need or want - a gas stove, fridge, microwave, coffee maker, toaster and cabinets full of dishes, utensils, and pots and pans. A full-size washer and dryer sits in the back hallway. There are 2 bedrooms, both with comfortable queen size beds. Each bedroom has its own bathroom - one with a shower (wonderful water pressure and nice,soft water) and the other with a jacuzzi tub big enough for 2. All of this for your private enjoyment and at a very reasonable, affordable price!
John and I had a great time at Trailhead Cabin. We give the highest recommendation to anyone wanting to get away from it all and looking for a place to relax and recharge themselves. You can find details about this cabin and others in the area at www.redrivergorgecabinrentals.com.
We've only been home for about 24 hours and I'm ready to pack my bags and head south on 75 again to Red River Gorge!

07/28/2008 | We had a wonderful time at the Trailhead cabin. Be sure to take advantage of the massage offered on the store area of the website. Toni was wonderful. Her massages are magic, and just added to the fantastic relaxing atmosphere. She is a gem! We truly loved the location, being "isolated" from the rest of the world, suited us just fine! (No cell phone, no internet= pure heaven!!) Trailhead had so many "perks" such as the hot-tub, jacuzzi, and the wonderful porch, which we used to the fullest. It was the best just to sit in the rocking chairs looking at the woods. We took Ian's great advice and brought all our own food, which was a good thing. There were not many places to go, again fine with us! We had a great time hiking the Gorge, and the Natural Bridge. Our best fun was the evening I got into the hot-tub with my friend, Sal-E.-Mander! You could hear me screaming for two miles! We enjoyed a camp fire every night, with millions of stars. Our last night was the best, when we spied a black bear only five feet behind us. (No we were not drinking! There really was a black bear in our camp!) We scampered in quickly after that! What fun!!! We hated to leave and will definately be back. Hope all will enjoy this location as much as we did!! Thanks Ian and thank you Toni!! Jackie M. Poe
| Making Memories - Sleeps 8 | ||
05/29/2011 | Our second visit to the cabin was just as good as our first visit.
Luckily, the weather was perfect and we avoided all the thunderstorms
that week. It was perfect hiking and fishing weather. The hot tub
was amazing and my back definitely felt much better after the trip.
We really enjoyed our weekend getaway. We really needed a break from
college and work. Also, it was a nice relaxing getaway that was perfect
for getting engaged and making some new memories. We will definitely
try to come visit every year.
Thanks Ian and Sandy for having us! Josh DeWell
04/08/2011 | Josh and I had so much fun last June staying in the Making Memories cabin. The cabin itself was clean, beautiful, rustic, and had all the comforts of home while retaining that camping feeling. Very private and romantic, especially the hottub. We swam in a nearby waterfall after hiking the landbridge trails. Also we enjoyed the beautiful drive to the cabin. We had so much fun we are planning a trip this spring as well! Thank you Red River Gorge cabin rentals, we will see you soon. Kathryn and Joshua DeWell
03/12/2010 | My husband and I stayed here at the end of January. All I wanted for Christmas was a cabin getaway. We had a great time. The cabin was perfect! Would love to go back again. We love the name of the cabin since we are expecting in October!(do the counting) Thanks again! Dustin & Rachel Huff
04/19/2009 | Ian and Sandy, Thank you for making our 3-day (my daughter and I) so pleasant and relaxing at Laughing Owl. The cabin was gorgeous and the kitchen had everything and more that we needed. Even though this cabin is close the road we had very little disturbance from passerbys because of the placement of it and truly felt we were all alone. We can't wait to come back. (Next time I am brining my husband:) Jana Ballinger

05/08/2011 | We just got back from our weekend at Cliffview Resort and I wanted to make sure that I got this thank-you off as soon as possible. We had a fabulous time and the cabin could not have been any more perfect. Everyone was astonished by the beauty of the cabin and the view. You certainly have named it right. We spent Saturday at The Meadows golf Course. Let just say it is an "interesting" course although we all had a great time and the owners treated us splendidly. I will DEFINITELY recommend "Almost Heaven" to everyone I know and will be looking forward to booking it again in the future.
Thank you again!!

06/14/2011 | "We want to thank you for the wonderful time we had at the Sundancer in Cliffview Resort. The cabin was very comfortable and peaceful. We enjoyed very much are quiet times having dinner on the deck and watching the sun go down while sipping our wine. The access to Red River Gorge Geological Area was great. We took a beautiful 55 mile loop ride on our motorcycle to Chimney Top, Nada Tunnel and topping off with a spectacular late afternoon sky lift to Natural Bridges. The following day we had a delightful hike to Suzanna's Arch. After that we realized what a special place the Red River Gorge is and need to return for more adventures."
